This young peewee/phoebe, I can't tell the difference, was sitting at the side of the road with the parents flying down to feed it.
He cheeped at me and showed no signs of distress.

Now I lay me down to sleep.
Curled up and sleeping with one eye open, this raccoon appears to have decided to sleep on a stump, not the most comfortable mattress.
It looked more like a cat all tucked up on a pillow than a raccoon. Maybe he doesn't like the grass tickling his ear.
On the way back from our walk he had left, hopefully to a higher perch.

Actually it is a trick question. This is an adult and a young bird.
The youngster doesn't get it's bright red head until later.

I don't know my dragonflies but this one just sat there allowing lots of time to take his photo, so I obliged.

Red Aphids
Our wild flowers are suffering from a plague of aphids. Nothing seems to be feeding on the aphids yet.
I up loaded a bigger size as they are quite interesting in large.
we hosed them off the plants as we don't use chemicals in the garden.
Any other suggestions on reducing their impact?
